We are passionate about delivering outstanding markets and events in Fenland.   Fenland District Council  has been working with local volunteers and the respective town councils for over 10 years to create a standout annual event for each of the four Fenland market towns, and to support the weekly markets.    We strive to provide an opportunity for local talent to shine and for businesses to thrive. We work hard to ensure that the 20,000 people who visit our markets and events each year can be assured of a wide variety of quality stalls, entertainment and amusements.

Annual free arts festival on the beach, celebrating the UK's first light of the summer solstice with Dance, Music, Science and Art.
First Light is a shimmering solstice celebration in the UK’s most easterly town.

Join us on the golden sands of Lowestoft’s South Beach and in the lush Kensington Gardens, as we mark the first sunrise of British midsummer with a weekend of unique performances and events under the solstice sun.

Halloweenies takes place each year in October Half Term.  It's a magical, spooky adventure! Themed as the School of Sorcery, in 2024 the event inviteD children to become budding sorcerers, creating wands, learning to cast spells, and brewing mysterious potions. Alongside the spellbinding fun, classic Halloween activities like pumpkin carving, exploring haunted trails, and interacting with friendly characters make it an unforgettable family experience. Set within the enchanting grounds of Kentwell Hall in Long Melford, it’s the perfect mix of fun, creativity, and Halloween spookiness for young witches and wizards!
